RNC is coming to Charlotte! Republican and Democrats have different thoughts on the Convention.
Republican organizers tout that in Cleveland, the site of the 2016 convention, it was estimated that the gathering generated $188.4 million in economic activity including $10.2 million in state and local tax revenue. Also Republicans say it gives them a chance to share the economic impact they have on the city’s working class, and how their policies can make a genuine difference in the lives of families.
Democrats feared that holding the convention in Charlotte would be an endorsement for Trump and would also cost the tax payers money for security. There has also been a lot of backlash from progressive and democratic activist groups.
